holiday message

lizzie just created this super glamorous holiday message to remind all of our wonderful customers that if they want to order something for the holidays they need to do it right away. i love what she was able to create using her amazing graphic design skills in combination with our martha'ed photos..well you know what they say.."it takes a village to make a pretty page on a website!"

mmmm..brownies

you know how they ask.."if you had to pick one favorite.." fill in the blank. well, i have the hardest time answering all favorites queries, but when it comes to fave sweet..hands down i say..BROWNIES!

as a kid, this recipe was always on the back of the bakers unsweetened chocolate box, and it is a winner. try sprinkling a bit of sugar on the baking pan after buttering it for an added caramelized treat on all the edges..you are going to thank me.

my fallon poufs from surya (here known as the arbor pouf)..they come in some really great colors like the chocolate brown and sky blue..and best of all they are on super sale! don't you just love them?

holiday photography

it was snowing like crazy inside the studio today..

so i whipped up some chocolate dipping sauce, baked some cookies, lit the fire..

and curled up on my bearskin rug to read a bit of my favorite book..shavings..and munch on some delicious holiday snacks.

el dia de los muertos

our friend pilar is the best! we celebrated the day of the dead with her yesterday, and it was so fun. nothing i like more than a good ritual! we built an altar with sugar skulls, figures, candles, photos of lost loved ones, paper flowers, and much more. her alter was amazing! she taught us all about the symbols of the celebration, she danced a little ranchero jig, and we all drank agua de jamaica which is a delicious tea brewed with hibiscus flowers..don't ask pilar why it is named for jamaica..no one knows. i took some great photos with my phone..but i cannot get them onto the blog..oy tech-mology!
