hello lonny magazine!

i subscribe to the e-list, created by my friend erica who covers all that is good in her corner of connecticut. she wrote this week that for all of us bemoaning the loss of our beloved DOMINO mag that there is now LONNY an online shelter mag. it is the brainchild of a few people from domino, and though turning pages is slow on my old mac, i was psyched to see its' familiar look and feel.

Ian Frazier genius!

i absolutely cannot live without the new yorker magazine. in fact, i am part of a new yorker magazine club that meets once a month to discuss the articles. so fun. last night i read a shouts and murmers column by genius writer ian frazier called "easy cocktails from the cursing mommy". this thing is so hilarious. and i just love that he gets how on the edge we mommies can get. you would not believe. anyway here is an excerpt for you. bon apetit!

"For starters, God damn to hell my father’s fucking girlfriend, who expects me to do all the food and the cleanup at his seventy-fifth birthday party, and then she’ll take all the credit for herself, such a fucking jerk. Fuck the township, also, for changing fucking Bulky Waste Day from Monday to Friday and now I have to haul all that shit that I carried down this morning back up from the curb or they’re going to give us a ticket, the fucking bureaucratic red-tape, petty, time-server assholes. And, just in passing, fuck the fucking Bush Administration—I know they’re not in power anymore, but fuck them anyway, because they’re such a bunch of fucks. HBOX addict

ok..i admit it..i am a total hbo addict. in fact, i get angry if i can't see my shows on sunday night. but season six of entourage just ended, and i think the whole season was pretty bad. does anyone care that much about turtle's dopey thing with jamie? vince shtupping more girls? drama being too dramatic? and most of all eric's really moronic endless whining about sloane? and why is he the star of the show? that guy is really boring. we all know that entourage is good because of ari gold! without him there would be no show. period. i j'adored his scene at the shrinks office..yelling about how he NEEDS 12 million dollars from his wife to buy another agency. great TV!

today i opened up my email and found this fantastic post entitled "jill rosenwald to the rescue" at the elements of style blog written by boston interior designer erin gates. she had said earlier in the week that she was bummed that west elm no longer carries the morroccan tile rug that was perfect for so many interiors. it turns out that a rug i design for Surya fits the bill. thanks so much for the nod erin!

i finally went over to etsy and posted some new patterns created for our fall collection. i am loving the silvery grey bumping up against tomato red..to me it looks zingy and super fresh on the white.

those wacky fashionistas

this was sent to me from a friend who works in the merchandising department at bloomingdales. apparently, it was said, that these see- thru skirts were quite the rage in japan. all i know is that despite the fact that the whole thing is a complete fabrication, i laughed myself silly over them. my personal fave is the stockist with the granny panties.
