vaca

my family and i are visiting the cape this week with friends.  this is one of my favorite places on earth..and we are doing one of my favorite things..jes' hangin'.

it is a kid's sport (and truth be told i was taught how to do it by 11 yr olds),and mildly dorky,  but i adore boogie boarding.   wellfleet beaches can't be beat for catching waves.  once you start..even thought he water is fah-reezing, it is hard to stop.  a little wetsuit is a great accessory to own.  i always forget to bring mine.

though this is not exactly the view out of our window..it is a lot like this.  and i am very happy.  thank you gods of vacation for granting me these precious days!

a day at the shore

after a day at montauk beach where we enjoyed sand and surf with the fam..
we headed over to gosman's dock for a truly gorgeous sunset overlooking the water. honestly i think i could stay here forever..if only..
after supper we headed back here to the surf lodge..which apparently has a hopping scenester scene..and we found out how true it was when who should we run into in the loungey bar but ms. housewife of NYC herself ms. bethany frankel sans jason AND sans bebe. she was dying to hang out but we politely declined (sorry bethany!!) as we were so exhausted and needed to get our beauty rest..so we can do it all over again tomorrow!
