fall palette

as i head into the fall season when i have to design a new collection for the NYIGF,
 i often head over to style.com to check out what the fashion folks are thinking
vis a vis fall2012.

as luck would have it, senor marc jacobs was saying yes to some very powerful
 color combinations and textural variations for LV.  je loved them.

you have to have balls to put those hats on the girls..right?
but i can't get enough of the rich hues, and the combinations!

i also think that burberry prorsum has some fabby shades.

this handbag in the coppery orange/red is making this pic

it's not hurting these looks either..it is all about the bag in that crisp acid yellow here.
and below the peacock satchel with the brassy top zings the blacks and charcoal pieces.

i call these colors worm..loving them too..and below..though i have always loathed purple
this garnet shade from tory burch is killlling me.  don't miss the little handbag in that lovely shade of lilac is giving the look an extra oo la la.

the colors from these  designers were just a great reminder that fall has a lot of richness to the season,
 and it is best  to include these vibes of warmth and cozy when choosing my new palette..
i have a lot of decisions to make amigos.

mon mono mania

i have been doing a bang up business lately in monogrammed items..who knew that would be "the next big thing"..so retro in a way..but these things have a way of circling back in a fresh way..so what am i ..arguing? certainment non! so let us review..goyard i believe was the original of this quasi nautical/clubby look with the striping.

then LV and Monsieur marc knew a good thing and jumped on the band wagon..

not to be out done by uber brands here comes Iomoi with a great version..

and erin {gates} was totin' around this lil' tote from Oughton which i think is super..and i think it is a great look (minus the monogram)at a great price well under $200.

last but not least lil ol' me with a version on our classic mug in a great color combo. i think it's a keeper!

logos

i spent time this week looking at the David Hicks: Designer book, , and learned (once again i am the last to get this!) that his iconic print is 4 "H"'s coming together to form an ingenious geometric. as a big fan of geometrics, and a giant naysayer of the ubiquitous logomania that envelopes the world of fashion and design..i am a latecomer to the idea of putting a big fat "J" all over my work..but i am seriously considering making the move. hmm. i do hate myself for loving those darn goyard bags.
color me quizzical, but i am starting to think this is the next big thing for us over at JR designworld headquarters. stay tuned for updates.
i mean..what's not to like about this antique steamer trunk?
